Crouzet/CST Millenium 3 AC7 Software Version 2.5

Products in the Millenium 3 range are simple to program using the new AC7 software workshop, available as a free download. In this way, professionals who are not automation engineers are able to install simple or even advanced control systems. Millenium 3 users should update their AC7 software workshop with version 2.5 (still free of charge). Only this new version can be used to program controllers manufactured after June 2011, as they will have new built-in electronic components, guaranteeing enhanced performance!

“The launch of the version 2.5 software workshop marks a major step forward in terms of user-friendliness, explains AndrĂ© Chovin, the Automation range product manager. The tabs are now organised so that the function blocks are more logically arranged. This is a significant advance as far as users are concerned“.

From now on, blocks are arranged in categories (calculation, logic, I/O, human-machine interface, etc). A new “Macro“ tab means macro enhancements can be arranged in the same way as function blocks. In addition, the user can rename 6 tabs as “favourites“ and for example place his most commonly used function blocks and macros in them. AC7 version 2.5 runs in Windows XP or Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit).

CST / Crouzet Limit Switch Changes and Obsolescence

Effective immediately, Custom Sensors and Technologies is making the following changes to their limit switch series:
  • All manual reset limit switches have been made obsolete (part numbers beginning with 83854, 83855, 83856 and 83857).
  • Case color of the 83851, 83852, 83861 and 83862 series of limit switches will change from red to grey.
  • Many of the limit switches in the 83852, 83853 and 83862 series will be phased out, replacing the 1/2" NPT conduit fitting with the metric (PG13.5mm) fitting.

CST / Crydom Evolution Dual Output Solid State Relays

Crydom, an operation of Custom Sensors and Technologies (CST) and global expert in solid state relay technology, introduces a new line of AC output Dual Solid State Relays featuring new IP20 “touch safe” covers and LED input status indicators.

Evolving from Crydom’s successful “D” and “H12” series Dual SSRs, the Evolution Duals offer an improved mechanical and thermal design providing higher capacity outputs and significantly increased power density.  Screw termination suitable for rated load currents to 50 amps/ 660 VAC per channel is standard in either “SSR” or “Contactor” configurations.  Each AC output channel features high power SCRs with high surge ratings and is available with either zero voltage or random turn on.

Four different input termination options (pin, locking connector, detachable barriers w/screws, and direct wire) are available with three different input voltage ratings including a wide range 4 to 32 VDC current regulated version.  LED input status indicators for both channels are standard.

Evolution Dual SSRs are UL and cUL recognized, TUV approved, RoHS compliant and CE certified.  Optional clear IP20 touch safe covers are available allowing a clear view of the power lead terminations while providing touch safe operation.  Crydom’s new Evolution Duals are for use in a wide variety of applications including Heating, Lighting and Motion Control due to its industry standard footprint.

New Literature from CST/Crydom

Solid State Relays, Solid State Control Relays, I/O Modules

Crydom is the world leading manufacturer of Solid State Relays, constantly innovating new circuit and technology-related inventions to satisfy the switching needs of the most demanding applications.  Crydom’s solid state control relays incorporate control circuitry, intelligence, indication and feedback to an SSR function, further enhancing the cost-performance benefits for the end user.  Crydom also offers a broad line of digital I/O modules and mounting boards, designed for long, reliable service in demanding industrial environments.

Hybrid Solid State Contactors
Crydom has combined solid state and mechanical switching technologies to create its line of Hybrid Solid State Contactors.  The RHP contactors provide the performance advantages of both technologies in an industry standard DP contactor package.  This combination results in a fast switching, highly reliable contactor that does not require the use of a heat sink.

Power Modules
Crydom Power Modules are power switching/control circuit elements integrated into convenient isolated-base packages, offering a broad spectrum of commonly used Diode, SCR, or SCR/Diode circuit configurations and ratings.

CST/Crydom RHP High Power Hybrid Solid State Contactors

Crydom, an operation of Custom Sensors and Technologies (CST) and global expert in solid state relay technology, introduces a new line of high power Hybrid Solid State Contactors for use in Heating and Lighting applications where Mercury Displacement Relays have previously been applied, and where life cycle constraints limit the use of Definite Purpose Contactors.

Mounting identically to a standard 3 phase DP (Definite Purpose) contactor, and featuring full load life cycle ratings of greater than 2 million operations, the new RHP line includes 3 phase contactor configurations rated at 120, 240, 280 or 600 VAC at 40 or 50 amp load ratings per phase at 65 degrees C ambient temperature. Control voltages of 24, 120 or 220 VAC, and unique logic compatible 5, 12 or 24 VDC input control options are offered. The RHP line is UL and cUL approved and CE certified.

The RHP line incorporates Crydom’s proven Hybrid SSR technology that utilizes contactless Solid State Relay turn on and turn off performance, coupled with the very low on state power dissipation characteristics of contactors, thus eliminating the need for heat sinking.

The higher power switching capabilities of the new RHP line means that in those applications where Mercury Displacement Relays are no longer welcome, the OEM manufacturer now has a cost effective alternative available. Similarly, in applications where contactor life cycles are a limiting or maintenance cost concern, the new Crydom RHP Contactor provides significantly longer operational life capability in an identical mounting package.
