Schneider Electric XUKS Stainless Steel Photoelectric Sensors

Daily cleaning cycles within the food and beverage processing industry subject sensors to severe conditions. Hygiene in the food and beverage processing industry is of paramount importance. The sensors must withstand, at least once a day, cleaning in very severe conditions: high pressure, high temperature and aggressive cleaning products.

Needless to say, the photo-electric sensors must be capable of withstanding these conditions for many years, without failure. With the Schneider Electric OsiSense XUKS (stainless steel 316L, IP69K, ECOLAB) range, this is successively achieved.

Resistance to aggressive environments
In the food and beverage processing industry, the daily cleaning cycle entails:
  • Washing, removal of heavy dirt
  • Cleaning with an alkaline product
  • Rinsing off the alkaline product
  • Extracting calcium deposits using acidic product
  • Disinfecting
  • Rinsing off the disinfection product
  • Rinsing with pure water
OsiSense XUKS has been created to withstand all these operations at high pressure and high temperature.

Ease of mounting and adjustment
High optical performance enables remote mounting and simplified setting-up:
  • Background suppression up to 550mm for white, grey or black object.
  • Visible red spot whatever the brightness conditions.
  • Preset detection which can be simply and quickly adjusted using flush “teach” button.

Robustness

This sensor withstands all chemical and mechanical aggression:
  • For resisting chemical products: ECOLAB certification
  • For resisting high pressure and high temperature: degree of protection IP69K
  • For resisting mechanical shocks: stainless steel 316L monobloc case.

Schneider Electric Harmony XB5R Wireless/Batteryless Push Button Video

Utilizing wireless technology, the Harmony™ XB5R Wireless, Batteryless push button is easy to install in both new and existing applications, such as bottling, packaging, and conveying lines. Now, you no longer need to pass a cable through the machine structure or cable tray to connect the push button to the electrical panel -- cutting installation costs by 20% as compared to traditional wired solutions.

When the operator pushes the button, mechanical energy is transformed into electrical energy, which sends a one-time radio message to the receiver. The batteryless solution offers permanent availability, benefits the environment, and eliminates costly battery maintenance, re-charging and recycling.

The wireless technology helps to achieve greater productivity by providing operators with greater freedom and mobility, allowing them to remotely control machines at a distance of up to 25 meters away in a metal cabinet. Similar to other Harmony products, the wireless, batteryless push button is well-suited for harsh industrial environments where added protection of your people and machines is paramount.

Schneider Electric Enclosed Altistart 22 Soft Start/Soft Stop Motor Controller

The Enclosed Altistart 22 solid-state combination motor controllers from Schneider Electric provide a pre-engineered, integrated solution for reduced voltage starting and soft stopping of standard three-phase asynchronous induction (squirrel cage) motors. The enclosed controllers consist of a circuit breaker disconnect and an Altistart 22 soft starter in a stand-alone enclosure.

With its energy efficient features, such as reduced current inrush, reduced voltage drop and mechanical shocks, the Enclosed Altistart 22 controller offers an ideal solution for your basic motor control needs, including:
  • A six thyristor (SCR) solid-state power configuration providing smooth acceleration and deceleration control of three-phase squirrel cage motors
  • Control algorithms that are integrated to ensure smooth rotation throughout the starting ramp without mechanical instability at the end of starting
  • An integral shorting contactor to reduce steady state controller operational losses
Achieve greater energy efficiency with simple system integration and control
  • Integrated bypass reduces the number of external components: power wiring, contactor and control wiring for coil
  • Wiring six terminals instead of twelve saves time and money
  • Integrated bypass contactor decreases heat dissipation, allowing for a smaller enclosure
  • Conformal coated printed circuit boards provide enhanced resistance to harsh environments, increasing the service life of your installation and reducing maintenance costs

Turck BL20 Economy I/O Distribution Line

TURCK announces the availability of BL20 Economy gateways for EtherNet/IP™ and Modbus TCP. Providing a flexible in-the-cabinet system for distributed I/O, these economical gateways can be paired with a broad range of I/O slices to suit virtually any application’s communications and transparency requirements. Unique to TURCK’s modular I/O systems, RFID can be incorporated to any distributed I/O product simply by applying the necessary RFID-S slices. The gateways provide sophisticated features in an economical and compact package, including dual Ethernet ports and functionality with digital and analog, as well as specialty modules.

BL20 Economy gateways are equipped with an integrated Ethernet switch that allows a line topology between multiple gateways without using an external switch, eliminating the need for additional cable runs to the PLC. BL20 Economy gateways bridge the backplane communication to the network communication, such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, DeviceNet™, CANopen or PROFIBUS®.

TURCK’s BL20 Economy gateways accommodate up to 32 I/O modules, resulting in a system that may contain up to 512 digital I/O points or 128 analog I/O points, as well as a combination of digital and analog points, on a single gateway. Analog inputs and outputs are configurable by channel for current, voltage or RTD, so that users do not need to stock multiple cards for design or replacement. Gateways are addressed via a dip switch, I/Oassistant software or through the integrated web server.

The BL20 Economy gateway is available with an integrated power supply, eliminating the need for an additional power module to feed the I/O bus. The BL20 Economy Gateway is designed to work with all TURCK Economy I/O slices, as well standard BL20 slices, which are uniquely hot swappable and available in either tension (spring) or screw bases.

Crydom LifePlus ED Series Solid State Relays

Crydom’s new “LifePlus ED series” of AC and DC output pluggable Solid State Relays offer Electromechanical Relay users the opportunity to directly replace traditional 12 x 29 mm EMRs with Crydom’s proven Solid State Relay Technology.
