Pepperl+Fuchs FieldConnex Multi-Input/Output Device

The multi-input/output (IMO) from Pepperl+Fuchs is a multifunctional device for DIN rail installation and connects discrete inputs and outputs to fieldbus. It is typically installed in a field enclosure close to the sensors in the hazardous area, thereby minimizing wiring. The MIO is certified intrinsically safe and as associated apparatus: inputs and outputs are intrinsically safe even when the fieldbus connection is not.

The MIO device provides connections for up to 12 discrete inputs and 4 discrete outputs. The device is compatible to components FD0-VC-Ex* and FD0-BI-* and offers control and position feedback for 4 low-power valves. Measurements for breakaway time and runtime can be set with limits for alarming. Automatic partial stroke testing is configurable. 4 inputs can be configured for vibrating forks and 1 input for frequency and counter signals, e. g., for rotating equipment.

The MIO communicates data, configuration, alarms and function blocks to the distributed control system (DCS). Inputs can be configured all at once or individually. The fieldbus powers the sensors and the MIO itself, extra power or wiring are not required.

FEATURES
  • For discrete inputs and outputs
  • Installation in Zone 1/Div. 1, intrinsically safe
  • Sensors in Zone 0/Div. 1
  • Connection to fieldbus acc. to FISCO or Entity
  • For PROFIBUS PA or FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1
  • Monitors sensor condition
  • Removable terminals
  • Power, com, diagnostics, and error LEDs
  • Test points for easy troubleshooting

Banner Engineering LTF Long-Range Time-of-Flight Laser Sensors

L-GAGE® LTF Series Laser Sensors from Banner Engineering are now available in extended range models capable of reliably detecting and inspecting objects from up to 24m away without the use of a retroreflector. The sensors achieve accuracy error of less than 1% of range and less than 25mm of accuracy error when using a white target. They offer greater range capabilities than similarly priced time-of-flight sensors and are an affordable alternative to sensors with similar range capabilities.

FEATURES
  • The extended 24m range allows LTF Series sensors to be used to solve many applications that previously were primarily solved by more expensive sensors specifically developed for long distances.
  • Diffuse mode sensing eliminates the need for a retroreflective target, simplifying installation and maintenance – users can begin inspections more quickly with no downtime to service targets.
  • The two-line, eight-character display and pushbutton programming facilitate sensor setup and troubleshooting, and enable real-time distance measuring and application monitoring.
  • A durable IP67 housing, high ambient light immunity, and stable performance across temperatures ensure reliable performance in many challenging environments.
  • Models featuring IO-Link communication have powerful advanced features, including remote configuration, remote monitoring, and extended diagnostics, all of which simplify the maintenance and management of sensors deployed in distant and hard to access areas.
