Phoenix Contact Heavycon Ethernet Module

Phoenix Contact is expanding its Heavycon portfolio to make it easier to combine power, signal and data within one housing enclosure. The new Heavycon modular insert is fully shielded and only takes up one module slot in a Heavycon retaining frame. The module uses crimp connection technology, with the individual leads being snapped into a contact carrier before being placed in a shielded housing. Finally this frame is snapped into a plastic module and then placed into the retaining frame.

Product features:
  • 8-position CAT5 Ethernet
  • Shielded housing protects against interference from power and signal modules
  • Easy assembly with side-snapping into crimp contact carrier
  • Reduce panel feed-through connectors by combining power, signal, and data in one enclosure

SMC Pneumatics Dust-Resistant Cylinders

Certain contaminants like ceramic powder, paper particles, or metallic powder can severely shorten a cylinder's operating life, even when using a heavy-duty rod scraper. SMC Pneumatics' XC92 dust-resistant option consists of floating lube-retainers on the piston rod, preventing particles of 30 microns or less from entering the cylinder, thereby extending the cylinder's life.

  • Improves cylinder life by a factor of 4 compared to standard SMC cylinders in dusty environments.
  • Available for a range of standard cylinders including round type (CM2), two compact cylinder models (CQS and CQ2) and a compact guide type (MGP).

SMC Pneumatics VF1000/3000/5000 5-Port Solenoid Valves

Following the success of their popular Series VF1000/3000/5000 solenoid valves, SMC Pneumatics has updated this range of 5 port valves by improving their durability, reducing their power consumption and also lowering their operating noise. Designed for automotive and general machinery applications, these improved valves are still fully interchangeable with existing VF manifolds.

With the introduction of a V200 pilot valve, power consumption of the standard valve has been reduced to 1.55W from1.8W and when specified with an energy saving circuit, the consumption falls to only 0.55W. Noise levels have been dramatically reduced thanks to the introduction of an in-built wave rectifier, potential problems of unwanted foreign matter entering the valves have been addressed with the addition of an in-built strainer and ozone resistant HBNR seal material has been added to overcome any possible build up of ozone in the compressed air system.

SMC Pneumatics VP300/500/700 3-Port Solenoid Valve

SMC Pneumatics has redesigned their VP300/500/700 3-Port Solenoid Valves with lower power consumption and a longer life expectancy. A low standard power consumption of 1.55W can be reduced to 0.55W with the optional power saving circuit installed, resulting in decreased operating costs. Service life has been increased to 50 million cycles or more, based on SMC life testing. A built-in strainer in the pilot valve prevents unexpected troubles due to foreign matter.

Pepperl+Fuchs MAC335 Universal Code Reader

Pepperl+Fuchs introduces the MAC335 Universal Code Reader. This compact, economical and easy to mount and configure stationary barcode imager is designed to read the most common 1D and 2D code symbologies. Its high 1.3 megapixel resolution enables it to accurately and reliably read small and large codes at distances ranging from 20 mm to 300 mm.

“Embedded JavaScript makes the MAC335 a particularly unique stationary code reader,” says Tim Cicerchi, Product Manager, Pepperl+Fuchs. “JavaScript enables it to be linked into all common programs, and permits evaluations to be carried out on the code reader itself. In many applications this functionality can also eliminate the need for, and expense of, a downstream PC.”

The MAC335 universal code reader also features Pepperl+Fuchs’ standard operator interface, Vision-Configurator. With Vision-Configurator, all parameters can be set intuitively, and images from the reader can be displayed. The MAC335 is also easily parameterized with Data Matrix control codes, eliminating the need for separate operating software.

These 24VDC devices offer IP65 protection, and are rated for use in temperatures ranging from 0 … 50°C (32 … 122°F).

Pepperl+Fuchs is a world leader in the design, manufacture and application of high quality factory and process automation products and services. Pepperl+Fuchs pioneered the development of proximity sensors 50 years ago, and has set the standard for innovation and quality ever since.

Phoenix Contact PSR-FSP Process Safety Relays

Phoenix Contact has expanded its process safe/SIL relay line with the SIL 3-rated PSR-FSP/2x1 and the SIL 2-rated PSR-FSP2/2x1.

Features Common to Both Safe Relays
  • Two normally open safety outputs and one normally closed status output.
  • Completely compatible with the "test pulses" occurring on safe PLC/DCS outputs.
  • Inrush requirement is limited for Safe PLC/DCS output compatibility (55mA).
  • 17.5mm wide.
  • Normally closed status contact can be wired in series to automate the "proof test" for SIL.
  • Note: Fuses are not included for the normally open safety outputs on either of these two components.
Major Differences
  • The PSR-FSP/2x1 is SIL 3-rated; the PSR-FSP2/2x1 is SIL-2 rated.
  • The SIL 3 PSR-FSP/2x1 is internally redundant; the SIL 2 PSR-FSP2/2x1 is not.
  • The SIL 2 PSR-FSP2/2x1 costs less.

Crydom HSP-2 and HSP-5 Thermal Pads

As part of their ongoing program of product line maintenance, Crydom has updated its Thermal Pads offer. Thermal pads TP01 and TP03 will be declared as "Obsolete" and will become unavailable effective April 1st. HSP-2 and the new HSP-5 will replace the obsoleted thermal pads (TP01 and TP03) and will provide single phase and 3 phase footprints respectively. HSP-2 and HSP-5 also include adhesive on one side. The replacement of TP01 with HSP-2 will also effect relays that are sold with thermal pad attached (H option) and assemblies that include the use of thermal pads. Currently available thermal pads HSP-1 and HSP-3 will continue to be part of the standard offer and provide an alternative for those that prefer non-adhesive thermal pads.
