Pro-face SP5660 Wireless LAN Display

Pro-face America announces the launch of the new SP5660 Enhanced HMI. This 12" Display unit is the newest member to the SP5000 family and offers built-in wireless LAN. The SP5660 is compatible with the Pro-face SP5B40 open box unit, adding even more options to this already flexible series.

In recent years, developments in wireless convenience and technology have resulted in an increased adoption of wireless solutions, even in production sites that were hesitant to adopt wireless capabilities due to concerns of reliability and security. Until now, building a wireless environment in manufacturing sites prone to high concentrations of dust and dirt resulted in constraints on wireless LAN router selection and installation location. In Pro-face’s new product, a wireless antenna is built into the bezel (frame) portion, which has obtained a variety of environmental standards, thus eliminating any effort in selecting and installing a wireless LAN router as well as any concerns about failures due to on-site dust and dirt. Use this one product in place of the industrial computers and HMIs usually used for configuring device operation settings and get the wireless environment suited for your site.

When installing a device to a manufacturing site, adjustment and verification at startup or when debugging are performed with connecting a laptop. However, with various components and devices in the factory, there’s no place to install the laptop, and it’s often the case that if the control panel is not open, connecting the cable to the PC can be difficult. To solve such problems, using this product means debugging can be performed anywhere, enabling the work to be carried out efficiently. Also, with a wireless environment, rearranging for factory lines and cell production is simple.

Pro-face’s specialized industrial remote monitoring application, Pro-Face Remote HMI, is designed for use on tablets and smartphones. By combining this application with the SP5000 Series wireless model, you can check production statuses and device statuses via tablet or smartphone anywhere and at any time, all without installing a router.

Pro-face FP5000 Series Industrial Flat Panel Monitors

In addition to cutting-edge functions such as gesture operation and a brightness sensor, the FP5000 Series of industrial flat panel monitors from Pro-face provides a high level of environmental resistance with features like a maximum ambient operating temperature rating of 60°C and an IP67F protection rating.

The FP5000 Series employs a 12.1" or 15" analog resistive multi-touch touch panel that allows multi-touch gestures, even when wearing work gloves.  Gesture operation greatly prevents unintended operation and the multi-touch panel film prevents display glass fragments from contaminating the processed goods, essential in the food and beverage industry.

The 12VDC power supply support is beneficial for mobile and solar powered applications.  Used together with the PE4000B Series industrial computer, the FP5000 Series suits the requirements of low power supply applications such as AGVs (automated guided vehicles) or others.

The FP5000 Series can be used as a display for existing equipment running Windows XP.  It also supports Windows 8.1, the latest version of Windows, allowing you to use the latest operating system when upgrading equipment.  The front-mounted USB port allows data to be exported easily using a USB flash drive.

The panel cutout dimensions are the same as the FP3000 Series (10", 12" and 15"), making replacement simple.

Pro-face GP4000M Rear Module

Pro-face America has launched the new GP4000M series rear module for their GP4x01M series of HMIs. The GP4000M Rear Module offers two unique data management architectures.

1. Thanks to the large library of 3rd party protocols supported, the GP4000M Rear Module can be deployed as a "Factory Gateway". As a Factory Gateway, the GP4000M can bridge devices from two different networks, each network operating on a different industrial communications protocol.
2. For applications where operator interaction is not required or infrequent and data collection is necessary the GP4000M operating as a "blind node" makes for a cost effective solution. Coupled with our Remote HMI app, screens that are normally displayed through a display unit, can be viewed on a tablet, smartphone, or any device that can support a web browser.
