TURCK Ultrasonic Sensors

TURCK is pleased to announce their new family of teachable ultrasonic sensors. The new ultrasonic sensor series from TURCK enables the user to cover large sensing ranges with fewer sensor variants and short blind zones. The sensors are available in 18mm and 30mm barrel housings with sensing ranges from 40cm to 300cm. Designed for rugged industrial applications, these sensors are IP67 rated and an ideal solution for object detection and liquid level applications.

In order to offer the right sensor for every application, TURCK has increased the versatility of the individual models. The simple compact version of the RU40 and RU100 modules enables the user to set the sensing range as well as NC and NO switching outputs with a teach adapter. The standard sensor versions also enable the setting of switch windows and two separate switching points, either by a teach adapter or via a teach button directly on the sensor.The high-end versions can be operated as a switch or as an analog sensor. Different operating modes, temperature compensation or the output function can also be set via IO-Link. If several sensors are installed next to each other, the customer can set the sensor parameters in synchronization or multiplex mode, in order to prevent mutual interference of the sensors. An optional USB master is also available which enables interface and parameterization of high-end sensors via IO-Link.

Sixnet® series RAM® and IndustrialPro® cellular automation products by Red Lion now offer 4G LTE multi-carrier cellular support for major North American carriers. Multi-carrier capabilities enable customers to simplify deployment and reduce inventory requirements by selecting from a list of preconfigured wireless carriers that include AT&T, BELL Mobility, Rogers, TELUS and Verizon Wireless.

TURCK QR24 Rotary Inductive Sensor

TURCK has added a variant with a CANopen interface to its QR24 rotary inductive sensor series. The new wear-free QR24-CAN variant is ideally equipped for use in mobile machines and industrial applications. 

Fast response times as well as a cyclical and event-driven communication are only two of the many benefits of the CANopen protocol, which is frequently used in the Mobile Equipment industry. 

These applications include:

  • special machine building. 
All QR24 sensors use resistance inductive capacitance (RLC) measuring technology to process and communicate position. Each sensor is manufactured with printed emitter and receiver coil systems fully potted within the housing. When the emitter coils are activated with a high-frequency AC field, they produce an inductive RLC circuit with the positioning element. The position of that element is processed based on the induced signal to the receiver coils in the sensors. Thanks to its intelligent mounting concept using adapter rings, the permanently sealed IP69K sensors can be fitted on all standard shafts with diameters up to 20 millimeters. TURCK also offers the QR24 with an SSI interface, incremental output and analog voltage/current output.

Honeywell ABP Series Pressure Sensors

The Basic Amplified ABP Series by Honeywell is a piezoresistive silicon pressure sensor offering a ratiometric analog or digital output for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature range.

The ABP Series is fully calibrated and temperature compensated for sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature effects and accuracy errors (which include non-linearity, repeatability and hysteresis) using an on-board Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). Calibrated output values for pressure are updated at approximately 1 kHz for analog and 2 kHz for digital. The ABP Series is calibrated over the temperature range of 0 °C to 50 °C [32 °F to 122 °F]. The sensor is characterized for operation from a single power supply of either 3.3 Vdc or 5.0 Vdc. These sensors measure gage and differential pressures.The Basic Amplified pressure sensors are intended for use with non-corrosive, non-ionic gases, such as air and other dry gases. 

The following options extend the performance of these sensors to non-corrosive liquids.
• No silicone gel coating: The input port is limited to non-corrosive, non-ionic media such as dry air and gases and should not be exposed to condensation. The gases are limited to media that are compatible with high temperature polyamide, silicone, alumina ceramic, silicon, gold, and glass.
• Silicone gel coating: Uses the same materials in the wetted media path but is protected from condensation by a siliconebased gel coating; allows use in applications where condensation may occur.

Honeywell WBX Series Wireless Limit Switches

Honeywell’s Limitless™ WBX Series combines the best of Honeywell’s MICRO SWITCH™ Heavy Duty limit switches with a point-to-point (P2P) network. It has a variety of remote or built-in antenna options.     The FL mGuard product line from Phoenix Contact gives you rugged, industrially rated security devices that include firewall, routing, and optional VPN functionality for industrial networks.     HARTING Han® IP67 Bulkhead Housing

    HARTING’s new Han® B IP67 bulkhead mounted housings offer a compelling alternative to IP65 rated connectors.

    Ideal for applications in extreme conditions like wind turbines, construction cranes, railway, and marine installations.

    The Han® IP67 Housing, as the name implies, provides IP66 and IP67 protection, and does it for virtually the same price as a comparable IP65 rated connector. As a practical example of the difference, in the locked state, the Han® IP67 housing’s protection allows for:

    • Temporary, full immersion in water, as compared with the IP 65 rated housing which is only hose proof.
    • Special flange protects the gasket seal, preventing water from penetrating the connector.
    • Circumferential collar also prevents the seal from sliding inwards or outwards; seal stability provides additional protection against water ingress.
    • Proven Han-Easy Lock® locking system for high contact pressure. 

    The Han® B IP67 bulkhead housing is compatible with all standard Han® hoods and housings, and can be configured with any Han® insert or module, including the over 50 inserts in the Han-Modular® series. It comes in sizes 6B, 10B, 16B and 24B that fit the same standard cut-out dimensions for the existing Han® housing portfolio. The IP67 housing is ideal for applications in extreme conditions like wind turbines, construction cranes, railway and marine installations. However, HARTING also recommends it for many other applications. Since the cost difference between the Han® IP67 and comparable IP65 bulkhead housings is minimal or non-existent, there is no downside in having more protection than the situation calls for rather than too little.
