Harting MICA Mini-Industrial-Computer w/ EtherCAT Board

HARTING’s Mini-Industrial-Computer MICA®, winner of the prestigious 2016 HERMES Award for industrial innovation, now is available with an EtherCAT board, allowing data to be collected directly from industrial production networks, preprocessed and forwarded to IT systems via standard protocols such as OPC UA or MQTT. Thanks to MICA®s modular hardware concept, which allows you to incorporate individual function boards, the other advantages of this mini-industrial PC are retained, like compliance with important industrial standards.

MICA®s modular Open Source Software Architecture makes it the ideal solution for developing edge and cloud applications in production. Creating the EtherCAT functionality as an internal function module enables MICA® to deliver further benefits, such as protection class IP67, and connectors suitable for industrial use.

MICA® also has been certified for Microsoft Azure for IoT. Microsoft’s certification process places certain demands on end devices so that they work seamlessly with Microsoft Azure services. As a result, the MICA® went through a series of tests provided by Microsoft to evaluate the functionality of the hardware. The results validated by Microsoft mean MICA® meets the requirements of the "Microsoft Azure Certified for IoT" program.

The "Microsoft Azure Certified for IoT" program is intended to help speed up IoT projects with Azure by providing a set of available sensors and devices that are tested for usability and compatibility with the Azure IoT Suite. With Azure, Microsoft provides a collection of integrated Cloud services to create, deploy, and manage applications across a global network of data centers.

Harting Han-Modular Twin w/ Angular Housing

With its new angular housing, HARTING’s Han-Modular® Twin provides users with a particularly compact and customizable connector solution that’s ideal for applications like motor connection, especially for larger motors up to 70A. The Han-Modular® Twin has the appearance of a small format IP65 connector. Fitted at a right angle to the motor, the 39x44mm angular housing takes the place of the terminal box, making for a very user-friendly connection. The hood is in two parts – an upper part with the cable inlet and the carrier housing underneath. This design feature makes it easier to fit the inserts into the hood and the cable can be fitted faster and more securely.

The Han-Modular® Twin is designed to hold two modules from the extensive Han-Modular® lineup, so it can be configured as a power-only connector or as a hybrid with a power insert and either a signal or data insert. A hybrid configuration makes an excellent connection option for servo motors in combination with two circular connectors. Such a hybrid might include a 4x40 A power module and a second module for 25 signal or data contacts. In servo motor connection, the plug and play Han-Modular® Twin makes motor changes quicker if you have a faulty drive – which can minimize production downtime.

Banner Engineering LTF Laser Measurement Sensors w/ IO-Link

Banner Engineering’s popular long-range L-GAGE® LTF laser sensor is now available in models featuring two independently configurable discrete outputs and the IO-Link industrial protocol, which enables robust two-way communication between the sensor and a master device. LTF series sensors offer tremendous accuracy over long distances and provide reliable detection regardless of target color, material or reflectivity.

FEATURES
  • Remote configuration: Device parameters can be read and altered remotely, even while inspections are ongoing, enabling quick configuration and minimizing downtime for product changeover.
  • Remote monitoring: You can access sensor level data in real-time, make decisions based on that data, and receive real-time status alerts for rapid identification and resolution of problems.
  • Extended diagnostics: IO-Link provides visibility into errors and health status for each device, allowing you to evaluate machine performance and diagnose problems without shutting down equipment.
  • Simple device replacement: An IO-Link master device saves configuration data and automatically updates new sensors; you can easily replace sensors without expert knowledge for configuration.
  • Interface versatility: Measurement data is regularly sent from the LTF to an IO-Link master device, enabling analog output capabilities in a sensor with dual discrete outputs and no analog output.
