New Products from Omron

Omron has announced the following new products to their Industrial Automation line:

FZ2 True Color Vision Sensors


Omron's FZ2 series color vision sensors now have 300,000 and 2 million pixel cameras to deliver improved resolution.  The Mega ARCS Engine features Processing Boost Software (PBS) and the fastest CPU in the industry to perform inspections beyond what was previously possible.

The FZ2 contains an integrated LCD touch screen monitor/controller for easy operation.  Up to four cameras can be connected to a single controller.



High-Resolution Universal Analog Input Module for CJ1




Omron's Universal Analog Input Module CJ1W-PH41U Offers 18 Bit Resolution for Omron CJ1 PLCs.

  • Isolated Inputs - Isolation between channels prevents unwanted current paths.

  • Scaling – The PV can be scaled in any industrial units and transferred automatically to the CPU.

  • Offset Compensation - Offset compensation is possible for process value errors.

  • Process Value Alarm - 4-point alarm (HH, H, L, and LL limits) is possible for the process value.

  • Rate-of-change Calculation and Alarm - The rate of change value is derived by taking the difference each second between the process value at that time and the process value before the comparison time interval. The comparison time interval can be set from 1 to 16 seconds. This allows even a small process value rate of change to be detected.

  • Peak and Bottom Detection - This function detects the maximum and minimum values.

  • Alarm Hysteresis, Mean Value Processing and Alarm-ON Delay - Values can be set.



Simple Fiber Optic Sensor Amplifiers E3X-SD




Omron's E3X-SD fiber optic sensor amplifiers have a design so simple, it can be operated without a manual.  The amplifier also uses a large, easy-to-read operation indicator and a simple display for excess gain (i.e. incident level/operating level).  Essentially, anyone can use the amplifier right away.



Two-Camera Color Vision Sensor ZFX

Omron’s new ZFX-C Smart Vision Sensor is a total Image Processing system that includes everything from a camera with an integrated light source to an image-processing unit.

With Omron’s newly developed proprietary measurement algorithms, and intuitive programming tools, inspection regions, process and parameter data is easily set with a few steps involving the operation of the touch-color monitor.

This “Smart” user interface delivers an advanced programming environment, with direct visualization of the inspection process.  Simplified parameter adjustment is facilitated in a compact, easy to use Color-HMI programming environment.

The new technology and style of the ZFX-C paves the way to a new era of vision sensors.

Washdown Rated Ethernet/IP Distributed I/O Blocks ERT1


These IP67 rated EtherNet/IP I/O blocks are brought to you by Omron Electronics through a partnership with Brad Control. Omron customers can now source these blocks for their application needs. In many applications, it is easier to install and maintain distributed I/O if it can be mounted on-machine because of the overall reduction of installation costs. By eliminating control cabinets and multiple wire runs, manufacturers can realize significant savings. These IP67 rated blocks are designed for the harshest environments, even direct washdown.

The Ultra-Lock connectors guarantee a perfect seal and connection with just a push, no twisting required. The “on-block” display allows maintenance personnel to read errors and IP addresses at the block, thus making troubleshooting line failures faster and easier. Best of all, the block’s IP address can be manually set at the block, no computer interface needed. Should a computer connection be available, engineers and maintenance staff can interface with and configure the block from a standard web browser.

Wide-Beam, In-Line Laser Gauging Sensor ZX-GT






As the only sensor in its class with the ability to measure to an accuracy of 10 microns without contact, Omron's ZX-GT Smart Sensor sets new standards for length and width measurements.
