Honeywell Sensing and Control Zephyr Analog Airflow Sensors

Honeywell Zephyr™ Analog Airflow Sensors: HAF Series-High Accuracy, provide an analog interface for reading airflow over the specified full scale flow span and temperature range. Their thermally isolated heater and temperature sensing elements help these sensors provide a fast response to air or gas flow.

Zephyr sensors are designed to measure mass flow of air and other non-corrosive gases. They are available in standard flow ranges and are fully calibrated and temperature compensated with an on-board Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC).

The HAF Series is compensated over the temperature range of 0° C to 50° C [32° F to 122° F] and operates across a temperature range of -20° C to 70° C [-4° F to 158° F]. The state-of-the-art ASIC-based compensation provides analog outputs with a response time of 1 ms.

These sensors operate on the heat transfer principle to measure mass airflow. They consist of a microbridge Microelectronic and Microelectromechanical System (MEMS) with temperature-sensitive resistors deposited with thin films of platinum and silicon nitride. The MEMS sensing die is located in a precise and calculated airflow channel to provide repeatable flow response.

Zephyr sensors provide customers with enhanced reliability, analog accuracy, repeatable measurements and the ability to customize sensor options to meet many specific application needs. The combination of rugged housings with a stable substrate makes these products extremely robust. They are designed and manufactured according to ISO 9001 standards.

Stahlin Enclosures Achieves UL 1741 Certification

Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures have achieved UL recognized component status as certified within the category of Distributed Generation Power Systems Accessory Equipment.

Stahlin enclosures were evaluated under the UL1741 standard for inverter, converter, controllers and interconnection systems equipment for "Use With Distributed Energy Resources" within the United States. Stahlin enclosures were also evaluated under the CSA-C22.2 No. 107.1 "Standard for General Use Power Supplies," for use in Canada. Stahlin is currently the only enclosure manufacturer to achieve this certification.

UL File number: E333478 denotes Stahlin enclosures as a photovoltaic combiner box component and recognizes the required achievements obtained under prior UL 746C, Polymeric Materials "Use in Electrical Equipment Evaluations" for outstanding UL94-5V flammability rating. UL94-5V is a standard that not all current enclosure products have attained, especially in tandem with NEMA 6 or 6P type ratings established under UL-50, Enclosures for Electrical Equipment.

Pepperl+Fuchs High Resolution Ethernet IP Encoders

Pepperl+Fuchs introduces EVM58 Ethernet IP Encoders. Available in single or multi-turn configurations, these rotary encoders provide highly accurate absolute machine position or velocity feedback to the system controller via an industry-standard Ethernet/IP interface. Ethernet IP Encoders are also compatible with a variety of PLC controllers, including industry-standard PLC products from Rockwell Automation, Allen Bradley and Schneider, making them well suited for material handling, automotive and general factory automation applications.

“Ethernet IP Encoders deliver basic resolution up to 8192 steps per revolution (13 bits) and up to 4096 revolutions (12 bits), for overall resolution up to 25 bits. These encoders provide a very high positional count value, which is ideal for precisely dividing very long traverse distances into small measurable values,” says Dave Rubinski, Product Manager.

Ethernet IP Encoders come in standard 58mm diameter housings, with a solid 10mm shaft, and clamping flange design. Diagnostic LEDs provide visual status indication to help users quickly correct problems and keep machines up and running. M12 d-coded connectors simplify operation and are used to power, and facilitate communication to and from, the encoder. Ethernet IP Encoders can be used with cable pull devices to determine linear position feedback and transmit that feedback back to the controller.

In addition to Ethernet/IP, Pepperl+Fuchs offers a complete family of encoders for CANopen-, DeviceNet-, PROFIBUS- and AS-Interface operation.

IDEC HE6B Three-Position Enabling Switch

IDEC's new HE6B three-position enabling switch is ergonomically designed to work where human interaction is required to turn on a machine or robot while the user is in a potentially dangerous area. Typically, enabling switches are installed in grip switches or pendant stations. This 3-position enabling switch not only turns a machine on when pressed, but also turns machines off when over pressed or squeezed, as long as the switch is installed correctly in an adequate safety circuit. Two contacts are provided so that even if one contact fails, the other can disable machine operation. Functionality is the same as all previous HE devices and meets all stringent requirements to meet IEC standard 60947-5-8 for this class of products. A waterproof rubber boot, available in yellow or black, provides IP65 protection.

3 –Position Operation, how it works: By holding an enabling switch, an operator can avert danger when a machine operates unexpectedly. When the panicked operator either releases or grasps tightly the enabling switch, the switch disables the machine operation in either situation.

IDEC HS1L Interlock Safety Switches

New HS1L series interlock safety switches from IDEC have an increased locking strength of 3,000N and offer six contacts with easy-to-wire termination. HS1L safety switches are designed to work in applications with large machines that have heavy doors or gates and all models are equipped with a manual lock-release key and an LED indicator. The indicator is wired independently, for added flexibility and use. Screw terminals are also easy to wire. No barriers on the sides of the contact terminal enable wiring from the side, making it easier for crimp-terminal connections as well.

Phoenix Contact LINETRAB LIT Compact Surge Protection for MCR Technology

Transients induced onto the signal lines often cause costly damage and downtime. Therefore, surge protection for MCR technology is indispensable. At the same time, there is a demand to save space and reduce wiring time, all at a minimum cost.

Phoenix Contact's new LINETRAB LIT are space-saving surge protection devices for the MCR technology. Up to 4 signal cores can be protected on a design width of just 6.2 mm. Three/four-wire measurements can thus be realized with just one arrester, thus saving space in the control cabinet.

Even with its low article variety, the LINETRAB product range provides the ideal solution for a wide range of applications such as binary, analog and intrinsically safe circuits.

LIT 1x2-24 is a surge protection device for a floating signal circuit. The cabling system enables simple and time-saving wiring to INTERFACE components and PLC controllers.

LIT 2x2-24 provides protection for two floating signal circuits.

LIT 2x1-24 is a surge protection device for two wires with a common reference potential.

LIT 4x1-24 protects four wires with a common reference potential against surge voltages on a design width of just 6.2 mm.
