IDEC Automation Organizer Software

IDEC is excited to announce Automation Organizer (AO), an IDEC automation software suite combining the latest versions of their popular WindLDR and WindO/I-NV2 software with a new system configuration software, WindCFG. This combined software will give users a powerful tool to design, debug, and document their control systems.

Automation Organizer includes all of IDEC's latest software upgrades: WindLDR version 6.21, WindO/INV2 version 4.13, and WindCFG version 1.21. IDEC has made significant improvements in how these softwares look and feel, while maintaining the same user-friendly experience. The new WindLDR and WindO/I-NV2 feature completely new graphic user interfaces and a total redesign of the Menu icons. The new Menu layout has been reorganized for quick and easy access to all the commands. And now for the first time, users can create a common tag name database for IDEC PLCs and OI Touchscreens.

Pepperl+Fuchs MNI40 Magnetic Incremental Rotary Encoders

Pepperl+Fuchs introduces MNI40 Incremental Rotary Encoders. The MNI40 is a robust magnetic, non-contact encoder with intelligent diagnostics suitable for a wide range of applications. The MNI40 delivers resolution up to 3,600 pulses per revolution at speeds up to 30,000 rev/min and operating temperatures from -40°C...+100 °C.

Robust, compact and simple installation of the MNI40 make it an ideal choice for a wide range of applications including machine construction, wind power, mobile equipment, material handling lifts and conveying technology. Primary features include:

  • Clear indication via LED display (2-color)
  • Easy installation and setup
  • Quality assurance through complete self-diagnosis
  • Long service life

“The LED indications are particularly useful during installation and setup because they provide information on proper assembly.” says David Rubinski, Product Manager. “The integration of the LED also reduces installation time and test equipment requirements, and offers greater potential for reducing overall costs of machine and/or system construction.” explains Rubinski.

The MNI40 utilizes a zero-contact (magnetic) connection between the encoder sensor and magnetic wheel, enabling the MNI40N encoder to measure speed without ball bearings. This eliminates bearing wear due to mechanical forces and ensures long operating life. The sensor includes sensing electronics, housed in a compact IP67 rated enclosure and an elastomer coated magnetic wheel – so contact with water and oil will not damage the encoder system.

Pepperl+Fuchs is a world leader in the design, manufacture and application of high quality factory and process automation products and services. Pepperl+Fuchs pioneered the development of proximity sensors 50 years ago, and has set the standard for innovation and quality ever since.

Turck Single Axis 360-Degree MEMS Inclinometer Sensor

TURCK introduces a new single axis inclinometer sensor for angular tilt detection with an adjustable measuring range of 360 degrees. Inclinometer sensors may be used in a wide variety of industries to solve unique feedback requirements where the customer needs to level platforms, control tilt angle or control a dancer.

The new TURCK inclinometer measures angular tilt in reference to gravity. At the heart of the TURCK inclinometer is a MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) device that incorporates a micro-electromechanical capacitive element into the sensor that utilizes two parallel plate electrodes, one stationary and one attached to a spring-mass system. Movement causes acceleration that produces deflection in the non-stationary electrode. This results in a measurable change in the capacitance between the two plates that is proportional to the angle of deflection. These signals are conditioned to provide a single analog voltage output (0.1 to 4.9 VDC) or current output (4 to 20 mA).

The micro board design in the MEMS technology allows for a compact, precise inclinometer in a very robust, industrialized package. The inclinometer is IP68 rated, with a temperature range of -30 to 70 °C.
