Pepperl+Fuchs VDM18 Laser Distance Measurement Sensor
Precise distance measuring is very important for automated manufacturing processes and quality assurance processes. In this example, the Pepperl+Fuchs VDM18 laser distance measurement sensor checks to ensure that the bottles are properly sealed. If the caps are not completely sealed, the bottles are removed.
Pepperl+Fuchs Miniature Sensor for Small Parts Recognition
The packaging process of machine drills is an application example for the precise detection capabilities of the Pepperl+Fuchs ML6-8-H background suppression sensor series.
At first, the completeness of the drill will be checked as presence of the drill tip. Here, the small sharp spot enables the proper small part detection. Then, the proper placing of the drill into the package will be checked. One sensor is triggereing on the leading edge of the package and is activating another ML6-8-H that will check the presence of the drill in the package's mold.
Demonstrated here are the very low black-to-white difference and excellent background suppression that are necessary for the detection of the dark drill in front of the bright near package material.
Pepperl+Fuchs Wireless Inductive System
Pepperl+Fuchs introduces an innovative system for wireless, no-wear sensor operation with the Wireless Inductive System (WIS). With the aid of just a few components, it is now possible to operate a wide variety of sensors, even on moving machine parts -- free of all mechanical connections.
At a working distance of 5 mm, the M30 heads achieve a transmission power of 1.5 Watts. The secondary electronics generate 12 V from the power received. Inductive, capacitive, photoelectric, or ultrasonic sensors can be connected to supply this power to the moving units. The signal states of the sensors are transferred from the secondary side to the primary side.
WIS is typically used on swivel tables, presses, or robots as well as for object recognition on moving work pieces.
Pepperl+Fuchs VOS110-FFPL Vision Sensor
Animation demonstrating how Pepperl+Fuchs' VOS110-FFPL vision sensor aids in the precision positioning for mechanical handling systems.
The VOS110-FFPL positions the shelf operating unit in a high-level storage system at the setpoint position precise to the millimeter by means of a reference hole. This fine positioning can be carried out stepwise by means of the four direction outputs of the Vision Sensor or, much faster, by the direct distance to the setpoint position provided by the RS 232 interface.
Pepperl+Fuchs Data Light Beam Switch
Animation demonstrating Pepperl+Fuchs data light beam switch for interference-free communication in stores and mechanical handling systems.
Wherever communication is required in high-bay warehouses, optical data couplers are used. Optical data couplers LS611 transfer the PROFIBUS across large distances by means of infrared light. The initial operation and alignment of such a system is perfectly simple thanks to quick fastening and auxiliaries integrated in the device.
