Banner Engineering VSM-2 Miniature Self-Contained Sensors
The VSM-2 Series from Banner Engineering are self-contained miniature stainless steel sensors ideal for small spaces and can be easily embedded into machines for simple integration. The new VSM-2 Series builds on the features and capabilities first introduced with the VSM Series by providing increased sensing range, switching frequency, a visible red beam to simplify alignment, and a dual-color LED indicator for clear indication of sensor status. IO-Link models are now available to provide increased data availability and simplified installation.
FEATURES
Ultra Compact, Cost Effective Design - The VSM-2 features a 4mm diameter smooth barrel or 5mm diameter threaded barrel for mounting in the smallest spaces. Diffused and opposed mode sensing options meet a wide variety of application requirements. The plastic PMMA lens is a durable alternative to sapphire and glass lenses. Additionally, the PUR jacket cable is suitable for cutting fluids and oils.
High Performance, Improved Repeatability - The advanced optical design and increased switching frequency (1kHz) enables improved performance and repeatability. A focused beam offers reliable presence detection even when the sensor is fully embedded within a machine. The VSM-2 features a dual color LED indicator (green and amber) for clear visualization of sensor status. The increased sensing range (opposed mode: 500mm, diffused mode: 100mm) provides you with greater flexibility in deployment.
Easy Configuration and Diagnostics - PNP models of the VSM-2 are available with IO-Link. This serial communication protocol provides you with several significant advantages, including standardized and reduced wiring, increased data availability, remote configuration and monitoring, simple device replacement, and advanced diagnostics. Benefit from reduced costs, increased process efficiency, and improved machine availability.
