The K50 Pro Series of devices from Banner Engineering has expanded to include additional communication capabilities with IO-Link and PICK-IQ ® and optical and mechanical actuation. Each of these 50mm multicolor RGB devices are now available with either IO-Link communication for advanced animation customization or PICK-IQ for faster response speeds over a Modbus network. As a family, the K50 Pro Series increases production efficiency. These devices simplify ordering and design through reliable performance in harsh environments, along with having a variety of color and animation options that enable more intuitive indication.
Key Benefits
Updated Models - The K50 Pro Series multicolor indicator combines existing IO-Link features with PICK-IQ technology. It allows users to configure color, flashing, dimming, and advanced animations like rotation, strobing, 2-color display, 2-color rotation, 2-color flashing, and chase.
The K50 Pro Series capacitive touch button combines existing IO-Link features with PICK-IQ technology. It can be actuated with bare hands or gloves and has adjustable sensitivity levels. Additionally, it has excellent immunity to false triggering by water spray, oils and other foreign materials.
New Models - The K50 Pro Series optical model has an illuminated dome to make it easy to see job light status. Users can customize or select standard function configurations. The K50 Pro optical features either IO-Link or PICK-IQ models. Pro Editor software is not currently available.
The K50 Pro Series push-button gives users tactile confirmation that the button has been pushed, compared to relying exclusively on the visual confirmation from the indicator. It is rugged, miniaturized, and an easy-to-install solution to aid in error-proofing and lean manufacturing. The K50 Pro push-button device features IO-Link and PICK-IQ models. Pro Editor software is not currently available.
New Features
IO-Link is a point-to-point communication link between a master and a light. There are many advantages of an IO-Link system, including standardized and reduced wiring, increased data availability, remote configuration and monitoring, simple device replacement, and advanced diagnostics. Together, these capabilities result in overall reduced costs, increased process efficiency, and improved machine availability.
PICK-IQ brings faster response speed and simplified programming to Modbus RTU communication. It gives full access to color, flashing, rotating, and dimming settings as well as advanced animations such as dynamic sequence mode and LED control. Output settings, including on and off delays, output function, and output state are also available with PICK-IQ. Using PICK-IQ adds a simple change to the devices that allow the Modbus master controller to run standard Modbus protocol, but achieve the performance required by a medium to large sized pick-to-light system.
Applications
- Processing and packaging machinery
- Automatic labelers
The TruStability™ DPR Series from Honeywell Sensing & Control is a piezoresistive silicon pressure sensor offering a ratiometric analog output for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature range. These sensors are fully calibrated and temperature compensated for sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature effects, and non-linearity using an onboard Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). Calibrated output values for pressure are updated at approximately 1kHz. The DPR Series is calibrated over the temperature range of -20°C to 70°C [-4°F to 185°F]. The sensor is calibrated for operation from a single power supply of 5.0VDC.
These sensors measure differential or gage pressures. The robust and durable housing, with its industry-standard mounting configuration, along with a choice of flexible electrical terminations, is designed to withstand tough application environments. The sensors’ internal diagnostic functions detect most internal failures, including burst sensors, and may reduce the need for redundant sensors in the system.
The DPR Series is intended for use with non-corrosive, nonionic gases, such as air and other dry gases. Custom calibrations, additional pressure ranges or options to extend the performance of these sensors to include non-corrosive, non-ionic liquids is possible. All products are designed and manufactured according to ISO 9001 standards.

The SLE5 from Banner Engineering is a rugged, industrial label detection sensor. Its high performance, fast switching frequency and compact housing are ideal for labelling machines. The SLE5 can detect single layer as well as multi-layer booklet labels, such as coupons or instructions commonly used in food, beverage and pharmaceutical applications. Single button teach easily establishes the threshold between the backing paper and label, ensuring that product waste is minimized during set-up.
Key Benefits
High Performance - The small infrared light spot of the SLE5 can quickly detect the gap between opaque labels on clear or opaque backing. The 5mm slot width and 50mm slot depth allow precise detection of a wide variety of products, including multi-layer booklet labels. The SLE5 can detect as small as a 0.5mm minimum label or gap width. 40µs response speed (12.5 kHz switching frequency) for increased position accuracy assures precise detection and placement on fast moving production lines.
Easy to Use - The SLE5 can be taught via single teach button or remote teach wire and can be configured to detect the label or the backing paper based on teach order. Teach mode can be performed either statically or dynamically at speeds up to 20 meters per minute. Highly visible green and amber status LEDs confirm teach was accepted and current output status.
Simple Installation - The SLE5’s compact housing features make it easy to install in the dispensing ledge. The dovetail mounting option is designed for simple installation directly on machines, no tools required. Standard M5 mounting holes are also available for maximum versatility. Models are available with 2m cables or integral M8 connector and with NPN or PNP output.
